Last Tuesday I walked past three 'must-try' stalls with lines wrapping the block and bought noodles from the auntie under my building instead. Better dinner. Shorter walk. Zero performance.

Famous street food is for guests. Your Tuesday is for the place that remembers you take less chili.

What I actually rotate

  • Cold noodles when the AC at home is losing
  • Jianbing when I overslept
  • Skewers only if I'm already out past 9

If a stall needs a taxi and a selfie stick, it's tourism. Keep one sticky plastic stool place within eight minutes of your door.
